  • Myth: I need a referral to go to physical therapy. 

    • Fact: You do not need a referral from your doctor to get physical therapy. Your insurance will even cover physical therapy without a referral. You can call your physical therapist directly and start being treated. This reduces the overall time and money it costs to get treated.

  • Myth: All physical therapy is the same. 

    • Fact: Physical therapy is different for every person based on their circumstances and needs. There are many different treatments that can be used. If you don't like your physical therapist, try finding a new one that aligns with your goals. 

  • Myth: Physical therapy is painful.

    • Fact: There may be discomfort during some treatments, but everything can be adjusted. There are a variety of treatments to calm down pain and help you to leave feeling better than when you came in.
